Winter break

Postby Old_Blue » Tue Jan 28, 2020 6:55 pm

There is talk of the clubs wanting a winter break, i don't know if that will work in this country, it is something that as been around on the continent, if we were to have a winter break then two things might have to come about, one is the amount of games we play in the Premier League, and two is fitting the cup games in, we might have to do away with the Carabao Cup but that wouldn't be a bad thing.

We're having one this season.
Half the teams have it one week and the other half the next week.
W/E 08/02/20 - PL.G26 - West Ham United (H) - (PL.BreakWeek 1)
W/E 13/02/20 - PL.BreakWeek 2
Manchester City - Ruining Football since 2008
Its always 11:11

I would have thought that all teams would have had the same time off, i think that is what they do on the continent, but i can't see any reason to have a winter break, as our winters are not as bad as they once were.

This winter break is not the English way of playing football, our game is played through snow and heavy rain and wind, but not in todays wind that was forecast to get up to 80 miles an hour, should any game be played in that wind it would just be a lottery, so it at the time was the right decision to call it off, but a two week break is not our way of playing football, and i hope we can get back to normal next season, but i think not because once we agreed to do it we will be expected to do it again next season.

I hope this winter break will be out last, they do it on the continent but we are British and cold weather is part and parcel of our game, games should be called off but only if it is unplayable not just for a break, they the players have enough time off after the season is over, but i will say this- this winter as been one of the worst in the last twenty years.

We have enough of the season broken up with bloody internationals, this is really a big pisser.
