Good Luck.

Blogging mmmmm :!5 never really been sure what that is, closest seems to be keeping a diary on t'interweb!!
Never kept a paper log so not sure why anyone thinks their musings are of interest to t'interweb community?

Anyway I can muse about football and City first by giving a little précis of how I reached this milestone in life.
My good ol' dad is a Manchunian from the salubrious area of Hulme (lots of his family lived in Salford shhh! )and he relates when he was at his new school a lad got him up buy the wall and demanded "Blue or Red?!" dad quickly said Blue, thus the Blue path was set.
He moved down South but myself and my likkle brother were imbued with City and football,
mostly via strangled radio (he called it the wireless ) commentary kept down low so not to annoy my mum.
Along with grainy black and white pictures on MotD good ol' beeb! Amazing I could have sworn we could see our team colours even in black and white.

I liked sports but wasn't very tall so was picked for rounders and hockey , occasionally got access to tennis.
Course back then no school girls football team despite my strong requests for such a thing which was met by great mirth.
So I contented myself with playing football at break times with the lads, I realised looking back I was the only lass
doing such a thing.

I'm of a generation that recalls the heady days of City winning it all with the dream team of Bell, Lee, Summerbee , Book et al always the lone City supporter where ever I lived.
I didn't actually get to see City till I left home and went to watch them v Southampton, can't recall if we won,
but I loved the atmosphere, the City supporters' banter, knew I'd come home.
It was in the days of standing, no seats, and being the proverbial short wotsit fellow supporters made sure I could see.

There was no turning back after this experience, even when I was married to the only man who hated football, all things Northern and City. During my child rearing days, managed to bring our lad up a fervent Blue too.
During the days of meeting up with dad to watch Swindon queuing up with the game put back quarter of an hour to allow all the blue multitude in.
Being hysterical watching the play off game v Gillingham (hubby kept the faith that day saying they'd win) not knowing such emotion since our lad was born when Dickov scored that famous last minute+ goal!

Now in heady days of rich Thai owners with ups and downs of politics necessitating their selling to even more rich Arab owners, gaining the tribute of being the richest club in the world.
No longer peoples' second team, making fools of ourselves throwing ott amounts of dosh at any player even the likes of Kaka!!!
Ridding Mark Hughes which while needed done in such an amateurish way , again not an edifying spectacle.
Now we enter the Mancini Italian flair days scarf worn with panache and a City team bereft of defenders defending for their lives!!
Oh happy days happy Blue days !!

Thanks zacc, looks like we have our first contender for the Blog prize :!7

I have asked somebody to proof read it and make any gramatical errors correct (if there is any of course). We have to do this to stay inline with NewsNow rules but once that is done I will post it. It was a wonderful read thank you very much.

Hehehe just as I thought there was pretty much nothing wrong with it ;)

It is just something we have to do to get ourselves registered with newsnow though I'm afraid. If they spot gramatical errors on the blogs they will refuse us entry and as I'm useless at grammar I didn't know wether thre was any or not. It wasn't meant as offence Zaccy as I thought it would be spot on anyway :!7

no offence taken Blue Tones I genuinely meant proof read it.
I do minutes for a Care group I belong to, I never trust what I've written read it several times even out loud, then later find some silly mistake once it's printed doh !!
